Samsung's Galaxy F70 5G went on sale in India on October 20, priced at Rs 19,999 for the 4GB/128GB variant and Rs 22,999 for 6GB/128GB, with bank offers reportedly pulling the effective entry price down to around Rs 17,999, as first detailed by Smartprix. The phone is sold through Flipkart and Samsung's own website, slotting into the brand's crowded F-series lineup between the F70e and the pricier F70 Pro. At roughly Rs 20,000-23,000, it lands squarely in the budget bracket where GetLikeNew customers are usually comparing a brand-new phone against an unboxed one.
What the Galaxy F70 5G Actually Offers
The headline spec is a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display, a step up from the HD+ LCD panels common in this price band. It runs on Samsung's own Exynos 1330 chipset, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage with microSD expansion. The camera setup is a 50MP OIS main sensor alongside a 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lens, with a 13MP front camera for selfies. Battery life comes from a 5,000mAh cell with 25W wired charging, and the phone carries an IP54 splash-resistance rating.
The Catch: A Mid-Tier Chipset Carrying an AMOLED Price Tag
The AMOLED panel is a genuine upgrade over what rivals typically offer at this price, but the Exynos 1330 underneath it is an entry-level chipset, not a performance part -- it's a familiar Samsung strategy of leading with display quality while keeping processing power modest. For buyers who care about multitasking speed, gaming, or longevity rather than screen punch, that pairing raises the same question that comes up with most budget launches: does Rs 20,000-23,000 go further on this generation's new entry-level hardware, or on a previous generation's higher-tier device bought unboxed?
What the Same Budget Buys in an Unboxed Phone Instead
Unboxed phones are sealed, unopened units from a previous sales cycle, sold at a discount to their original launch price -- they are not used devices, which is why GetLikeNew backs them with a genuine 6-month brand warranty. Browsing GetLikeNew's mobile phones collection at a comparable Rs 20,000-23,000 budget typically surfaces a phone that launched a cycle or two ago with a flagship-adjacent chipset and camera system, rather than this cycle's entry-level silicon. The trade-off is buying slightly older hardware instead of the newest release, which for most everyday users is a reasonable swap for a meaningfully faster chip.
The Same Budget Logic Carries Over to Laptops
If you're weighing a phone purchase against other upgrades this season, the same math applies to laptops. A new budget laptop bought today, amid the ongoing RAM and SSD pricing pressure, often means a lower-tier processor or less memory just to hit a price point. Shopping GetLikeNew's unboxed laptops or student laptops collections at a similar budget usually gets a stronger processor and more RAM for the money, backed by a 1-year brand warranty on unboxed laptops.
